Everybody Can Give
Making a giving plan isn’t just for the wealthy. it’s for everybody.
‘Catholic Philanthropy’ means giving our money and time to make life better for others in keeping with Jesus’ instruction to “Love one another” (John 13:34-35). Philanthropy is a big fancy word that we might think applies only to the rich and powerful. But that’s not true. Simply put, philanthropy means giving. At CCFSD, we partner with individuals, families, and institutions to make Catholic giving plans that are simple, beneficial, and attainable for everyone.

There are several ways to get started that typically involve opening a fund— a legal giving instrument that preserves and governs your financial gifts.
What to Give
We can accept cash, publicly traded stocks and mutual funds, QCDs from a retirement account, or other types of tangible estate assets.

Fund Types

DONOR ADVISED FUND (DAF)
A simple, flexible account that allows you to make gifts, receive immediate tax benefits, and then recommend grants whenever you want. Think of it as a charitable checking account.

donor designated Fund
A streamlined fund that benefits a single beneficiary. You decide how much to grant and when. This is an option if you want to make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA.

ENDOWMENT FUND
A permanent fund that is invested and provides annual grants to your favorite charity in perpetuity. An endowment fund helps you leave a faith-inspired legacy that lasts.
